BATUMI, Georgia - Nia Tsivtsivadze (24) was crowned Miss Georgia 2017 at the Batumi State Music Center on December 9. She will represent Georgia in Miss World 2018. Larissa Petrosyan (24) finished in second place and will compete in Miss Universe 2018.

KRYNICA-ZDRÓJ, Poland - Kamila Świerc (18) was crowned Miss Polski 2017 at the Municipal Sports Complex in Krynica-Zdrój on December 3. She will represent Poland in Miss World 2018. Martha Palucka was the first runner-up and Marta Ziębakowska was the second runner-up.

SEROCK, Poland - Agata Biernat (27) was crowned Miss Polonia 2017 at the Hotel Narvil in Serock on November 26. She will represent Poland in Miss Universe 2018. Magdaleny Swat and Malwinie Ratajczak finished in second and third place, respectively.

PARADISE, Nevada, United States - Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters (22; 1.70m; Sedgefield, SOUTH AFRICA) was crowned Miss Universe 2017 at the conclusion of the 66th Miss Universe finals held at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood in Paradise, Nevada, United States on November 26. She is South Africa's second Miss Universe and the first since 1978. Laura González Ospina (Colombia) was the first runner-up and Davina Bennett (Jamaica) was the second runner-up. Mareeya Poonlertlarp Ehren (Thailand) and Keysi Mairin Sayago Arrechedera (Venezuela) completed the top five finalists.

Monalysa Maria Alcântara Nascimento (Brazil), Lauren Howe (Canada), Rachel Louise Obregon Peters (Philippines), Sofia del Prado Prieto (Spain) and Kára Deidra McCullough (United States) were the top ten semifinalists. Qiang Qiu (China), Shanaelle Liana Petty (Croatia), Ruth Quashie (Ghana), Anna Maria Burdzy (Great Britain), Cailín Aíne Ní Toíbin (Ireland) and Akelah Christina Peiris (Sri Lanka) were the top sixteen quarterfinalists.


Momoko Abe (Japan) won the Best National Costume award. 92 contestants competed for the crown. Adama Lakoh Kargbo (Sierra Leone) withdrew from the competition due to visa issues. Cambodia, Laos and Nepal debuted this year. The returning nations were Egypt (2014), El Salvador (2015), Ethiopia (2014), Ghana (2015), Iraq (1972), Ireland (2015), Lebanon (2015), Saint Lucia (2014), Trinidad and Tobago (2014) and Zambia (2010). The nations that competed in 2016 but not in 2017 were Belize, Denmark, Hungary, Kenya, Kosovo, Sierra Leone and Switzerland.

SANYA, Hainan, China - Manushi Chhillar (20; 1.75m; Bamnoli, INDIA) was crowned Miss World 2017 at the conclusion of the 67th Miss World finals held at Sanya City Arena in Sanya, Hainan, China on November 18. She is India's sixth Miss World and the first since 2000. Alma Andrea Meza Carmona (Mexico) was the first runner-up and Stephanie Hill (England) was the second runner-up. Aurore Kichenin (France) and Magline Jeruto (Kenya) finished in fourth and fifth place, respectively.

Achintya Holte Nielsen (Indonesia), Solange Sinclair (Jamaica), Polina Alekseyevna Popova (Russia), Adè van Heerden (South Africa) and Ha-eun Kim (South Korea) were the top ten semifinalists. Fátima Molina Cuéllar (El Salvador), Haruka Yamashita (Japan), Wan Ling Lan (Macau), Enkhjin Tseveendash (Mongolia) and Ugochi Michelle Ihezue (Nigeria) were the top fifteen semifinalists. Mongolia advanced to the top fifteen via the Miss World People's Choice popular vote.
