Miss World 2014 | Arrivals and Auditions

The 64th Miss World festival, part of the world's greatest beauty contest, have recently started in the cosmopolitan city of London, capital of the United Kingdom. 124 contestants are expected to compete in the international pageant making it the second largest edition of the pageant after Miss World 2013 that featured 127 contestants. The contestants' home during their stay in London is the Marriott County Hall Hotel in Westminster adjacent to the iconic London Eye and overlooking the Palace of Westminster and the Big Ben. 
As costumary, right after the arrivals the contestants took part in the auditions to determine the semifinalists for some of the challenge events and the traditional Dances of the World. It will be announced shortly who made the cut and will pass to the next round.
The continental group of Africa this year features two debuting nations: Chad and São Tomé and Príncipe. Seven nations are returning to the pageant Myanmar (1960), Algeria (2002), Luxembourg (2010), Egypt (2011), Israel (2012), Uruguay (2012) and Zimbabwe (2012). Angola, Botswana, Bulgaria, Chile, Dominica, Honduras, Macedonia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Samoa, Taiwan, Uzbekistan and Zambia competed last year but withdrew this year for various reasons. 
Today, the contestants will take part in a service of unity and special memorial tribute for Maria José Alvarado Muñoz.
