Miss Mundo de Puerto Rico gets a new crown

The Miss Mundo de Puerto Rico organization revealed today a new crown for the national pageant after 18 years using the iconic gold crown with precious stones of a variety of colors. The brand new crown is made of silver-colored metal with delicate blue and translucent crystals. The crown measures 3 inches in height and 7 inches in diameter. The design, similar to the Miss World crown, was revealed today during the National Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York, New York.
The current Miss Mundo de Puerto Rico pageant started in 1996 when national director, Delia Cruz, succeeded Rose Pérez who organized the pageant in 1994 and 1995. The Miss Puerto Rico pageant organized by Anna Santisteban sent the first runner-up of the pageant to Miss World from 1989 until 1993. Shanira Blanco was appointed as the pageant's executive director last year by Delia Cruz.

Special thanks to the Miss Mundo de Puerto Rico organization for the news!
