The Times of Beauty proudly presents Daniela Darmanin, Miss World Malta 2012, in an exclusive interview for our interview series, Meet the Misses.

1.    Give us an introduction of yourself, your country and your hometown.
My name is Daniela Darmanin. I am 21 years old, I live in the small village of Mgarr. I consider myself to be a very ambitious person and I rarely give up on something which I want to achieve, I am also fun and outgoing and love to meet new people and learn different cultures.
Malta is an amazing country surrounded with beautiful and sunny beaches. Malta also has an important history which takes back to the stone age, it is considered to be the jewel of the Mediterranean, and has just over 400,000 inhabitants.

2.    What are your plans for the future?
I come from a very entrepreneurial family background and over the years this entrepreneurial spirit got transmitted to me. My dream is to open my own shop selling high-end dresses and accessories for weddings and other important occasions and obviously to work abroad as a model and to have a family.

3.    What are you most proud of?
Apart from winning my national title, I would never forget when I had the opportunity to lend a hand with less fortunate people in Lourdes, France with my mother.

4.    Which activities make you lose track of time?
Activities that makes me lose track of time are when I am with my family choosing new designs and clothes for our shops, training with my best friends. I love to walk near beaches and I literally forget about everything. It is my moment to relax after a hard day of work and most of all when I am during a photo shoot, I just love photography once I start I never stop coming up with new ideas.

5.    If somebody was describing your personality what would they say?
I think my closest persons around me will describe my personality as fun and outgoing, ambitious and for sure a person that fights for what she wants .

6.    What is something you know you do differently than the most other people?
The thing I do different than other people, mostly women, is probably the fact that I get dressed with my hair and make up done.

7.    Have you done anything memorable lately?
Apart from winning Miss World Malta and also thanks to this fact, I have had the opportunity to meet many different people and also try many different things, which I would probably will continue getting better as the competition approaches. In my case it's right to say that the best memory is the one yet to come.

8.    Which is worse, failing or never trying? Why?
When one fails he learns a lesson that will give him the opportunity to come up better and wiser, if you never try you will not learn anything and you will just be a shadow of yourself. For me the worst is never trying.

9.    If you could teach anyone anything, what would that be?
I believe that everybody has something to teach to somebody else, some have a lot and some have a few, and this knowledge would be achieved through the experiences one has. The most important thing I learned from life is that life is much easier when you smile and are happy, and this is what I will try to teach other people, that in the end everybody dies so might as well be happy while living.

10.    How do you define beauty? How will you prepare for Miss World to achieve your vision of beauty?
I define beauty as a person that is most  of all beautiful from the inside not just from the outside, apart from this one can achieve beauty by being really careful on what one does. I achieve my beauty by taking full care of myself and taking care of my skin and body by training 4 times a week .

11.    Share a message to your supporters and readers of The Times of Beauty.
My message is that if someone  has a dream you have to  reach out for it and make it come true , never ever give up on what you want, if you try and you want to succeed try and try again, never give up and always aim high.
