Miss World and the 2010 FIFA World Cup

As customary, Miss World Organization sets a high bar on pageantry and gets involved in the 2010 FIFA World Cup. 32 representatives sent by Miss World national directors, one for each country competing in the World Cup, are in Johannesburg, South Africa.
It is not the first time the Miss World Organization gets involved in other major international events. In 2007, the Miss World contestants sang the official song for the XXIX Summer Olympics held in Beijing and Zi Lin Zhang (Miss World 2007) carried the Olympic Torch the following year. In 2009, Ksenia Sukhinova (Miss World 2008) was the face of the Eurovision Song Contest held in Moscow. On the same year, several contestants took part in the Confederations Cup held in South Africa.
Miss Ghana (Mimi Areme), Miss New Zealand (Cody Carlece Yerkovich), and Miss Uruguay (Eliana Olivera), are among the 32 representatives. They will be attending the 60th Miss World pageant later in the year.
